Arts in Health Volunteer

Arts in Health Volunteers are a key part in the programme of Oxford Health Arts Partnership across the Trust. They bring their own personal skills, experience and enthusiasm into the activities programme and support patients to engage.

The role can be as varied as the people taking part - with activities ranging from painting to dance, mosaics to singing, drawing to reminiscence - and volunteers don't have to be skilled in any of these as long as they have the enthusiasm to help bring patients into the activity. Or, if a patient is wary of taking part, sit with them and explain what is happening and how they can be involved or simply observe.

Our Oxford Health Arts Partnership programmes have been subject to a range of evaluations and research projects which demonstrate the overwhelmingly positive impact that arts can have on the experience of patients within hospital environments. We are keen to ensure that this experience is available to as many patients as possible and by volunteering to support this, you will be helping to achieve this goal.
